NCR COVID-19 Positivity rate increased to 9.2%

Last November 24 2022, it was observed that there was an "increase" in COVID-19 positivity rates, resulting in a possible new wave of COVID-19 infections could begin in the National Capital Region (NCR).

Dr. Guido David, one of the staff in independent monitoring group OCTA Research mentioned that NCR's weekly positivity rate increased from 7.4% to 9.2%. If the current situation does not improve,  the National Capital Region (NCR) may soon experience the beginning of a new wave of lockdown.

Positivity rates are determined through the percentage of the total number of people who were tested positive for COVID-19 using RT-PCR and antigen tests.

Dr. David added, it is still difficult to determine the reason for the unexpected spike as what was observed was the beginning of the increasing percentages of positivity rates, though the situation regarding the positivity rate is currently under observation.

From the recent two weeks, the Department of Health (DOH) has recorded NCR as the highest number of cases with 3,382. Followed by Calabarzon with 1,973, Western Visayas with 1,444, Central Luzon with 1,131, and Central Visayas with 1,078.

The COVID-19 pandemic has been a stressful experience for everyone. Full of restrictions, precautions, and situations that leads to one worrying about their safety. Remember that our choices have an impact on others as well. Stay safe and always remember to mask up.
