Body Love: Habits to maintain good health

In this fast-paced world, prioritizing health has never been more important. It may feel like an additional task in our never-ending to-do list but your body will thank you for it!  By adopting these simple but effective habits, the journey to better health is within reach: 

 

1. Regular body movement 

This is not just regular exercise as we know it. Even short bursts of activity matters! (like taking the stairs instead of the elevator or doing quick stretches after sitting down for too long). Of course, it is even better if you can aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate activity most days of the week through jogging, running,  cycling, dancing, or participating in sports.  This helps boost your cardiovascular health, strengthens muscles, manages your weight, all the while releasing endorphins that improve your mood.

3. Regular Sleep routine

Sleep is often the most overlooked aspect of health, especially since staying up late is romanticized in society. However, it is an essential part to recover after a long, tiring day. It is important to get a minimum of 7 hours of sleep every night. It is also best if there is consistency with the time you go to bed and wake up to build a routine for your body. 


Incorporating these habits into your life can be slightly overwhelming. These small habits are not that small at all. However you can start small— choose one habit to focus on each week and start from there. For example, you can start by stretching after reading this article. Celebrate your progress and remember that good health is a journey, not a destination!
