DIY Halloween Costumes

With October comes the spooky season—that means, Halloween parties are just around the corner! If you’re at a loss on what to wear, don’t worry. You could easily find some of these in your closet, and if not, they’re generally easy to throw on.

Vampire

Unless you’ve got a specific vampire in mind (ahem, Edward Cullen), you wouldn’t go wrong with a black trench coat over white puffed sleeves and black slacks. Don’t forget to wear red lipstick, and add two dots on your neck for the bite marks. If you’re feeling extra, you could add fake blood on your shirt or neck—you’ll be a real spook to the party!

Chucky

Go as the favorite horror doll by wearing a sweater with red and white stripes and denim overalls. Bonus points for adding some of the cracks along your face, wearing an orange wig, or using blue contact lenses. Look for a fake knife (emphasis on fake) or make some with cardboard and paint and you’re good to go.

Georgie from IT

A little boy named Georgie played around with a paper boat, reaching a storm drain where Pennywise “The Dancing Clown” lurked. Pennywise bites off his arm and drags him inside—anyone who would see you would immediately be reminded of the horrifying events of the film (or the original novel). Throw on a yellow raincoat and bring around a red balloon, and a misshapen origami boat to the party. You could even bring someone with you dressed as Pennywise!

Coraline

Similar to Georgie, you could easily wear a yellow raincoat and a blue wig. Along with this, DIY some buttons over your eyes—preferably over glasses, or make the buttons themselves the glasses—to complete the look. Customize the look even further with a Jelli M1 mask in Midnight, it adds to the mysterious aura.

Wednesday Addams

Wednesday’s child is full of woe, but maybe you can bring the woah! to the party when you dress up as this iconic Addams Family character. Put your hair in low braids, bring out a black dress and some black mary jane shoes. If you’d like to put on makeup, wear some foundation that’s a few shades lighter than your skin tone for a pale look like hers.

With these easy-to-create costumes, you’ll be ready to make a spooky entrance at any Halloween party.  Make sure to wear your Jelli M1 mask to keep you protected in the Halloween crowd without ruining the look of your costume. Whether you’re going as a classic vampire or channeling your inner Wednesday Addams, a little creativity can make your outfit stand out—so get ready to embrace the Halloween fun while staying safe!
