Not home for Holidays? Tips in keeping safe during holidays

With the lack of national and local precautionary measures as safety protocols have been less strict such as the mask mandate lifted, making it voluntary to wear one in the Philippines. However, this does not mean we are all safe, as the COVID-19 cases are still increasing from recent reports by the Department of Health.



Take this guide with you, in keeping your family safe while enjoying the holiday season! 



Always consider your vulnerable family and friend’s safety


Elderly people, pregnant women, minors, and those with other comorbidities must be prioritised especially regarding health and safety concerns as they are more susceptible to severe COVID-19 cases. It is best to follow safety protocols such as taking a rapid test, social distancing, wearing a mask, and getting vaccinated.  



Stay alert and informed to COVID-19 cases updates


Some reported case data are not released regularly as it was in the past. To keep updated on the CDC Community Level, measuring the number of individuals being hospitalised and considered to be infected with the virus within the area one is. Being aware of the current situation would guide one in measuring the level of safety precautions to consider. 



Update your COVID-19 vaccine and booster shots 


Make sure to reach out to your doctors and check the status of your COVID-19 vaccines and booster shots. When needed,  consider getting COVID- 19 vaccine, booster shots and flu shots to decrease the risk of getting infected with the virus and other diseases as well. 



Consider following the safety protocols 


It is advisable to continue implementing social distancing, keeping a good hygiene, and always wearing a mask especially in crowded places. Especially for elders, pregnant women, minors, and those with comorbidities as these measures have been tested and proven to provide additional protection from the COVID-19 virus.
