FAQs

What is the Jelli M1?

The Jelli M1 is a transparent, anti-fog reusable face mask that's engineered in California for breathable and comfortable all-day use so you can let the world see your smile!

How often should the filters be replaced?

The frequency of filter replacement for the Jelli M1 mask depends on the air pollution severity, lasting up to 24 hours of use. If worn for 3 hours a day, it's advised to change filters weekly. Additionally, you can create your own filter by inserting a material of your choice, cut to fit the sides and chin of the mask.

How safe is the Jelli M1 Mask?

Safety is a major consideration in the development of the Jelli M1 and its particle filtration efficiency has been tested to perform at over 99.7% with 2-way filtration to protect yourself & those around you. The parts that touch your face are also made with a food grade polycarbonate. You can see our testing results here

What is CNAS certification?

China National Accreditation Service (CNAS) is a national body in China that accredits laboratories, inspection, and certification bodies. It ensures these entities meet standards, boosting confidence in their services (www.cnas.org.cn). Our masks are certified to have passed conformity assessments for surgical masks (YY 0469-2011) and hygienic standards for disposable sanitary products (GB 15979-2002) under the T/CTCA 7-2019 requirement for general protective face masks, which is able to filter pollen, and to prevent exhaling pollutants from the mouth and nose. This certification also allows our mask to comply with legal requirements to export our masks globally.

What is the status of Jelli's FDA registration, and can you provide clarity on the recent discussions?

Jelli M1 was US FDA Registered. The company successfully completed the FDA registration process at the start of its operations in 2020, maintaining the registration from 2021 to 2022.

In the interest of transparency, the company experienced a temporary lapse in being “US FDA Registered” which was a result of payment failure stemming from financial constraints. The re-registration process primarily involves a financial commitment with annual costs between $4,000 to $6,000. For re-registration, it only involves making payment, which we have failed to do.

We acknowledge our mistake on not promptly updating and deleting social media and e-commerce contents mentioning “US FDA Registered” on our posts from the years we were registered. We acknowledge the lapse and have since taken measures to rectify the situation. In addition to this, we are looking into the process of renewing our registration to show our commitment to uphold our brand's trustworthiness.

How do I clean the Jell M1

We recommend cleaning the Jell M1 with gentle soap and water. Do remember to wash it gently so as not to scrub off the anti-fog coating on it.

Will there be more colors of the Jelli M1?

We launched with Midnight (black), Arctic (white) and Taffy (pink). Feel free to let us know what other colors you'd like to see and we'll check with other customers to see if it's something we can do.

Do the masks come in different sizes?

Right now, it only comes in one size for adults. It can also fit bigger kids, ideally middle schoolers and older.

Can I make my own filter?

Yes, you can make your own filter by inserting your material of choice, cut-out to fit the sides and chin of our mask. For the best fit and quality assurance, we also sell filter packs specifically for the Jelli M1.

I backed this on Kickstarter and didn't realize that I had to pay import duties. What are my options if I don't want to pay them?

After our Kickstarter campaign we shipped hundreds of masks all over the world and weren't able to anticipate all of the local customs charges that would apply, based on each of the regions that our backers are based in. We mentioned this in our shipping policy and from February 2021 our local distribution capacity will help customers in some countries avoid these fees altogether. If you've received notification that your mask requires duties to be paid before it can be delivered and wish to ask for a refund, please email us at support@jellim.com with your order number and region details.
